About the project

SITRANS project is addressing the need for assessing the economic and social impact of the energy transition at the regional and intra-regional level, while developing an effective model of governance of just transition which incorporates a place-based approach.

The project aims to elaborate on the complex and challenging nature of decarbonization in five coal regions: Western Macedonia, Bulgaria (Stara Zagora), Poland (Silesia), and Italy (Sardinia). SITRANS is setting up a fully functioning Energy Observatory: the Just Energy Transition Observatory. The scope is to address the need to design, host and monitoring evaluation models based on predefined indicators and criteria that will be jointly traced in the context of public consultation.
