On 28 September, CORE will be gathering policy makers, researchers, civil protection representatives, and sister projects from the Societal Resilience Cluster in a Stakeholder Forum in Brussels to discuss the topic of ‘Improving collaboration and transfer from research to policy makers in the DRR context’.

The workshop aims to foster the creation of a consolidated group chaired by CORE and other H2020 and HE projects, with the intent to strengthen the collaboration between researchers and policy makers.

The session will be divided into two slots, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

  • In the morning session, a first panel will be dedicated to CORE and the SRC cluster projects; then, in a second panel, invited policy makers will give their perspective about the collaboration with researchers. In particular, the focus of the discussion will be on their needs in the decision-making process and how they can be supported to improve citizens preparedness.
  • In the second part of the event, three rotational panels will be set, and experts will be divided into three groups. Each panel will have a specific thematic area and all participants will give their contributions to each of the panel, in turn. The three thematic areas will be Strategies for increasing societal resilience, Favoring communities engagement, and Bridging the gap between scientists and policymakers.
