MESSE GRAZ - Messeplatz 1 - 8010 Graz, Austria

ICONS will join Battery Innovation Days 2025 (BID), held on 2–3 December 2025 in Graz, the fifth edition of the annual event dedicated to battery research and innovation that brings together experts from across Europe’s battery value chain.

As a communication and dissemination partner, the ICONS team will be present to support three EU-funded projects under Horizon Europe: NEMO, REBELION, and THOR, all participating in the event within their respective project clusters.

NEMO and the BMS Alliance

The NEMO (NExt-generation MOdels for advanced battery electronics) project will be showcased at a shared booth as part of the BMS Alliance. Niccolò Belluati, senior business innovation officer at ICONS, will represent the project.

The alliance is a collaboration between four EU-funded projects, BATMAX, ENERGETIC, NEMO, and NEXTBMS. They are all dedicated to enhancing battery performance, lifetime, reliability, safety and overall efficiency, building on both model-based and data-driven approaches to battery management.

REBELION and the Circular Battery Cluster

REBELION, focused on battery circularity and second life, is a member of the Circular Battery Cluster, which brings together EU projects working to build a more sustainable battery value chain. Chiara Bartolacci, senior business innovation officer at ICONS, will represent REBELION within the cluster.

The cluster will contribute to the parallel session “End of life, start of supply: Advancing battery recycling in Europe”, scheduled for 2 December 2025. During this session, Jefferson Palas, e-Mobility and energy storage researcher at Eurecat, will present the work of the Circular Battery Cluster.

THOR and the TwinBATT Cluster

The THOR project will join the TwinBATT Cluster, a four-project cluster that brings together THOR, DigiBatt, AccCellBaT and FASTEST. The cluster unites Horizon Europe projects working on digitalisation, virtualisation and smart testing for next-generation batteries.

During BID 2025, the TwinBATT Cluster will deliver a presentation titled “Digitalisation of battery development testing: approaches from the TwinBATT cluster” and will also contribute to the session “The future of AI in battery innovation and production”. These contributions will highlight joint methodologies and milestones in accelerating and modernising battery testing and validation, and how digital tools and virtual testing are helping to shape AI-powered battery development workflows.

Infopack on the European battery ecosystem

For a broader overview, ICONS has prepared a dedicated infopack – that will be distributed at the event – on the European battery ecosystem, featuring key data, main technological trends and an outline of our integrated support to R&I along the entire value chain.
