From energy to inclusivity: ICONS’ contribution to Smart City Expo World Congress 2025

Since 2011, the event has brought together companies, public authorities, and organizations to share solutions that make cities more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient.

ICONS will participate with the European projects REN+HOMES, GINNGER, NEUTRALPATH, and DEDALUS, bringing practical experience in energy, accessibility, and the climate-neutral transition. Luisa De Amicis and Filippo Collura represent the organisation.

Side event: Enabling technologies for smart cities and buildings

Within the Infrastructure & Building programme, ICONS will contribute to the side event “Enabling Technologies for Sustainable and Inclusive Smart Cities and Buildings” (organized by the European project AccesS), which takes place on Thursday 6 November, 09:30–12:30 — CC5, Room 5.3.

Using REN+HOMES as a case study, ICONS will illustrate how innovation translates into measurable impact through sustainable business models, and how, in the context of positive-energy homes, similar solutions can create multiple forms of value when backed by appropriate governance and partnerships.
