About the project
Europe’s climate-neutral transition needs rapid, cost-competitive Proton Exchange Membrane fuel-cell deployment, yet bipolar plates remain a bottleneck. Current supply depends on imported metallic/graphite plates, exposing EU value chains to risk.
AIM-PLATES addresses manufacturing bottlenecks of composite bipolar plates (cBPPs) by pioneering a suite of advanced forming, shaping, and digital technologies within a Safe-and Sustainable-by-Design framework, demonstrated on two pilot lines.
